Vinish drives product and strategy at Asset Algo. He has deep industry knowledge in institutional proprietary trading and buy-side technology. He started his career managing private money before his role as an FX derivatives trader with FIXI PLC took him to London and Singapore where he developed trading models with a RoMad > 100. He was then appointed head of eFX for FIXI Dubai where he implemented trading infrastructure digitalisation projects for large corporates in the Middle East. Vinish was a commando officer in the Singapore Armed Forces and a national athlete for Team Singapore.
Vinish holds a Bachelors in Business Management (Finance) from Singapore Management University and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
Atif develops industry and fund manager partnerships and maintains regulatory oversight at Asset Algo. A senior banker with over 20 years of experience in the financial markets, Atif brings buy-side, sell-side and entrepreneurial expertise to the team. In his long career at State Street Bank, he rose to Managing Director of the Global Markets Division running their Electronic Trading business. Atif has built all-star teams, navigated legal & financial frameworks and turned several loss making concerns into profit centres. He was part of State Street's currency overlay programme which eventually grew to US$32 Billion.
Atif also founded Matwa Group, an energy, trading and fintech consultancy and private investment group. He has a BSc (Hons) Computer Science — University of Westminster.
Boris handles big data, portfolio optimisation and artificial intelligence implementations at Asset Algo. Previously, Boris was the Head of Commodities Research for Winton Capital Management where he developed profitable strategies for trading commodities futures and managed a portfolio of over $1.5 billion. As Vice President of AQR Capital, he doubled the fund capacity and raised Sharpe ratio by 10%. His career started as a statistician and commercial buyer for Mars Inc. where he bought palm oil for chocolate manufacturing and performed statistical analysis of hedging strategies.
Boris has a PhD in Theory of Probability and Mathematical Statistics, MSc in mathematics from Moscow state University, faculty of mechanics and mathematics and an MBA from Henley Management College.
Stuart brings over 20 years of trading and risk systems development for both buy and sell side teams. With experience of distributed and cloud computing platforms, he ensures Asset Algo has a perfect technology to business strategy fit. He has worked recently at Bank of America Merrill Lynch managing their FX Options Pricing & Risk systems development teams, and before that, at Pine River Capital Management in Hong Kong, rolling out a multi-strategy systematic trading system for the Chinese futures markets.
Stuart has a MSc in Mathematical Trading & Finance from City, London University, and a BSc in Computer Science from Monash University, Australia.
Stefan Nilsson, a Tokyo-based investor and entrepreneur, has spent most of his career in alternative investments. He is founder and CEO of HFC Advisory Group. Additionally, he is a director of Terrasias Capital, a single family office, and founder of the Hedge Funds Club, an Asian network of hedge fund managers and investors. He also serves on a number of boards globally, including several hedge funds. Earlier he has worked in asset management and prime brokerage at investment banks JP Morgan and Bear Stearns. He is a lecturer and adviser for Henley Business School’s executive hedge fund programme and has an MBA from Leicester University in the UK.
Cyrus is the Managing Director for IDC’s Financial Services and FinTech practices. Cyrus and his teams focus on all aspects of run-the-firm or change-the-firm. His research and advisory practices cover Banking, Insurance and Capital Markets and topics such as Legacy Modernization and Transformation, Hybrid Cloud, Big Data & Analytics, Customer Lifecycle Management, Digital Experience (DX), e-Commerce eco-systems, IoT, Cognitive, Blockchain and Fintech. For the past 20 years, Cyrus has been working with financial institutions to help them assess their business and operational and technical challenges, select the right vendors/partners, better understand their IT TCO, and grow their customer base.
Before merging with IDC, Cyrus was Managing Partner with a regional research and publication firm. He was instrumental in growing their proprietary as well as subscription-based research business along with their publishing businesses. Cyrus worked with Wells Fargo for nearly four years in their FX & Bullion trading operations division. Before Wells, Cyrus spent 10 years with HSBC in Asia. Cyrus has lived and worked in the UK, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Australia for nearly 12 years before he moved back to Singapore in 2000.
His understanding of a range business, market, regulatory, and investment related issues enable him to work closely with financial institutions, consultants, vendors, and government agencies on various multi-disciplinary initiatives.
